EJC Presents Low-wage Worker Rights Course at Statewide Labor Law Conference

In May 2010, EJC was invited to lead a course on low-wage worker rights for Texas lawyers gathered at the 17th Annual Labor and Employment Law Conference (University of Texas Continuing Legal Education). EJC Executive Director Bill Beardall presented “Employment Law Principles Applicable to Claims by Low-Wage Immigrant Workers.” The presentation and accompanying paper focused on the cutting edge legal issues and new precedents that are evolving as low-wage immigrant working people – like those represented by the EJC – gain increasing capacity to use the legal system to enforce their employment rights. The paper was written by Beardall with contributions from the staff of the EJC and law students from the UT Law Transnational Worker Rights Clinic. You can access that paper here: Low-Wage Immigrant Employment Law Paper.
